The history of coal branch of Uzbekistan
Formation of coal branch was commemorated by the beginning of Angren deposit’s industrial mastering – the largest in Central Asia, opened before the Second World War began. The exploitation of deposit began in 1940-1943 by the underground way with pawning of six mines. Coal open-pit mine building was commenced in 1941. As the earth mover technics imperfect and inefficient steam excavator on railway move with 1-1.25m3 capacity buckets of “Marion” (USA) label, transport facilities of home production with 1,5-2 tons cargo-carrying capacity of hand discharging were used. In 1948 the open-pit mine “Angrenskiy” was put into operation, and this date is the beginning of coal industry development of Uzbekistan, so as the open-pit mine is the main and one of the largest coal extraction enterprises not only in the republic but all Central Asia. In this year the mine 9 was put into operation. Beginning from the moment of putting into operation the open-pit mine gave more than 130 mln. tons of coal, and more than 30 mln. tons of coal were extracted in the mine 9. . The reforms of coal branch began in 1994 with assumption of the resolution 271 of the Cabinet Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “About the measures on improvement of the coal industry management of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, in which the order and mechanism of phased privatization of coal enterprises is approved. |
