On June 16, 2026, the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum commenced its work in Tashkent, marking an important milestone in the economic development of Uzbekistan. Bringing together thousands of delegates, leaders of major financial institutions, and multinational corporations from more than 100 countries, this prestigious event serves as another clear testament to the growing international standing of New Uzbekistan in the global economic arena.
As President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has emphasized, “Investment is the heart of the economy and a solid foundation for development and prosperity.” In recent years, Uzbekistan has implemented large-scale reforms aimed at creating an open and reliable investment environment, ensuring the protection of private property rights, and modernizing key industries. Today, these efforts are delivering tangible results.
The fact that the forum participants manage assets worth a combined $42 trillion and that more than 8,000 participants have gathered in Tashkent demonstrates the high level of international confidence in Uzbekistan’s economy.
The forum agenda includes discussions on strategic sectors such as geology, critical mineral resources, energy, transport and logistics, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and industrial cooperation. Particular attention is being paid to initiatives aimed at increasing the country’s industrial capacity, deep processing of local raw materials, and expanding high value-added production.
The Angren industrial region, home to JSC “Uzbekcoal,” one of the backbone enterprises of Uzbekistan’s coal industry, is also among the active participants in the country’s ongoing economic transformation. New opportunities for attracting investment, introducing advanced technologies, and expanding international cooperation contribute not only to the development of the energy and mining sectors but also to the sustainable growth of the national economy as a whole.
The Tashkent International Investment Forum is a practical result of Uzbekistan’s open economic policy, efforts to improve the business environment, and commitment to strengthening international cooperation. The agreements and projects expected to be signed during the forum will undoubtedly contribute to further enhancing the country’s industrial and investment potential.
