Today, international events are becoming an important platform for professional exchange, learning and dialogue for specialists across various fields. International conferences and meetings dedicated to strategically important areas such as energy and energy efficiency are particularly valuable. They provide an opportunity to learn from the experience of different countries, explore modern approaches and exchange views on the common challenges facing the sector.

Another important feature of such events is that they focus not only on theoretical issues, but also on approaches that have already demonstrated their effectiveness in practice. Bringing together representatives of different countries, international organizations and industry professionals on a single platform creates a strong foundation for new forms of cooperation.

On September 22, 2026, we took part in an international event in Tashkent dedicated to these important issues. The event was organized by the National Energy Efficiency Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the UNDP project “Unlocking the Energy Efficiency Potential of Public Buildings in Uzbekistan — Energy Audits.”

The event provided an in-depth discussion of energy efficiency, the organization and improvement of energy audit quality, the training and professional development of qualified specialists, the strengthening of institutional capacity, as well as the development of the energy service company (ESCO) market.

For me, one of the most interesting aspects of the event was the opportunity to learn more about international experience and hear how different countries are approaching energy efficiency. Such professional exchanges encourage us to look at our own work from a different perspective, generate new ideas and explore solutions that can be applied in practice.

As part of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the National Energy Efficiency Agency and the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA). This represents an important step towards further expanding international cooperation. Such cooperation can contribute to studying best practices, improving the quality of energy audits, training qualified professionals and strengthening the institutional capacity of the sector.

The issues discussed at the event are also directly relevant to the activities of Uzbekcoal JSC. For a large industrial enterprise, the rational and efficient use of energy resources is an important factor not only in optimizing costs, but also in improving production processes and introducing modern energy-efficient technologies.

From this perspective, the effective organization of energy audits, continuous professional development of specialists and the practical application of international experience remain important priorities for us as well.

My main takeaway from the event was the realization that energy efficiency is no longer an issue that can be addressed solely within an individual enterprise or a single country. International experience, open dialogue and cooperation are becoming increasingly important in this field.

Participating in such significant international events gives us not only new knowledge and professional experience, but also an opportunity to look at our own activities from a new perspective. Most importantly, the knowledge and experience gained should be put into practice and transformed into tangible results for our enterprise.
